How to Store your Paddle Board Safely This Winter
Paddle boards get damaged sometimes — in the water — dings, scratches and cracks happen. But, you don’t want you board to get damaged in the winter, while it is being stored. The last thing you want to have to do is get your board repaired before you can take it out next spring. Here’s a quick and easy step by step guide to safely storing your SUP over winter.
Step One: Remove Fin
Take the fin out of your standup paddleboard and reattach the plate and screw to the fin. Store it all together in a safe place (preferably somewhere you’ll be able to find it in the spring.)
Step Two: Rinse
Rinse your SUP carefully and thoroughly with your garden hose and wipe off. If your paddle is adjustable, take it apart and rinse each piece carefully before putting back together and storing.
Step Three: Store.
Find a safe spot to keep your board, preferably a rack designed to store standup paddleboards, where it won’t get knocked over or damaged during winter.
